Barbados Weather is set apart by its warm, sunny days and clear blue skies throughout the year. Temperatures usually reach between 24-31 degrees centigrade during the daytime while evenings are considerably cooler. Due to the island’s position in the tropics and the blowing of the Northeast trade winds Barbados Weather cools down during the months between December and March when temperatures hover around 23 degrees centigrade, these months are also the driest of the year.
As summer rolls in, weather in Barbados becomes increasingly warmer, with temperatures beginning their steady ascent some time in May. Despite summer’s fairly warm weather, this time of the year coincides with the wet season, with afternoon showers having a soothing effect on the patterns of Barbados Weather, cooling down the blistering sun that reigns over this small island of the Lesser Antilles island group, between June and November. Lovely as it sounds and uplifting as they are, these impulsive bursts of precipitation do not last long, as the sun quickly makes its grand appearance and dry conditions prevail within minutes.
Unlike most of the other Caribbean islands, Barbados Weather during the hurricane season experiences tropical rainstorms, which spectacular as they might be, are also without a doubt absorbed by either the underground lakes or the sea. Because of the warm nature of weather in Barbados, even the heaviest rains quickly evaporate.
As a small, low-lying island, Barbados is highly susceptible to the risks of sea level rise brought about by climate change.
